Science and Social Studies
- We are currently studying early American Colonization and its impact on Native Americans and European explorers and settlers. We had a great time on our Cherokee Trip, and are looking forward to bringing our experiences back to the classroom to enhance our study. Your child is presently working on creating a poem that tells the story of the Trail of Tears and a visual describing the "Way of the Circle." In science, we are continuing our study of bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi. Students have taken bacterial samples around the school to study, created Viral Cereal Boxes, and a padlet describing their assigned parasite. We will shift our focus to fungi in the coming days, but will continue to discuss current issues regarding disease. Please take the opportunity to discuss these relevant contagions (ebola, flu, etc.) with your child.
